Remember the movie ‘Driving Miss Daisy?’ Where Morgan Freeman's character, Hoke Colburn, drove Jessica Tandy, Miss Daisy Werthan, everywhere, at her son’s insistence and to her dismay. There is so much more to the movie, but stream of consciousness had me wondering how many of us are in the back seat of our own cars. Why are we letting others drive? Think of the car as our lives and the driver being an individual or individuals we give control to take the wheel of OUR car. Now, noodle on these questions.
Where in your life do you allow others to make decisions that you are quite capable of making, but for whatever reason you don’t. Who have you become to let others dictate where you go? What is creating the situation that another decides the speed with which you travel? What happens when you don’t decide your own destination?

Depending on your answers, maybe it’s time to think about getting out of the back seat and driving.
