Adjectives

Describe yourself. Use as many descriptors as you can think of to state who you are. Don’t be shy. Include the awesome, the unhealthy, the hidden. Claim it. Own it.

Read no further until you have done this. Seriously. [insert the Jeopardy theme song]

Great job!

Take a look at your list, because here’s the kicker. Even after this lengthy inventory, it is doubtful that you have fully encapsulated the beauty that makes up you. The rarely duplicated, sometimes mystifying, often unassuming YOU. But it is a great start.

Again, claim it. Claim who you are. Apply the full portfolio of you in your work, your play, your rest, your world. Open yourself up to the fullness of who you are. Don’t shy away.

And here comes the ‘but.’

But…..be prepared. For when you open yourself to your community, your world(s), you then live authentically. You live into your purpose – who you were created to be. By naming and claiming your true self, you attract who you want to attract. You understand the urgency of leaning into your life purpose. You can no longer hide behind a persona. You become (ugh…wait for it…) vulnerable. And in return, you receive unfathomable amounts of love, understanding, grace, and joy. You become a part of the whole. The whole is not complete without you and you are not complete without the whole.

You are part of something bigger than yourself. Welcome to the Universe.
