Barriers

Sometimes the choices we make – and don’t make – are like the big ugly barriers you see transportation crews utilize during road construction. They hinder, limit, annoy, and even distract.
People have barriers, as well. In some cases, they are caused by something you can’t currently control – finances, education, illness, etc. These are outer barriers. But often, the thing getting in your way is, well, you.
Think of one of the pursuits you haven’t realized to date – one that has no outer barrier. Then ask yourself what inner barrier has held you back thus far. Self-judgment? Frustration? Fear? Tension? Regret?
Now, congratulate yourself on your honesty, because it doesn’t matter where you are with regard to your goal or dream. What matters is that you are now aware of where you are.

From there, be okay with where you are. Accept it without judgment. Then, decide your next move.
