Caulking

So many questions. Too much to worry about. How can we ever…
Some days it seems like the world, our community, our lives are filled with worry and despair. It can feel like so much, just too big. On certain days, it’s like all we are doing is placing a child’s Band-Aid on a gaping wound. Granted, it’s cute, but it doesn’t stop the bleeding or the pain. And, oh how we can get so frustrated with the smallness of the things we are able to do.
But let’s take a pause and realize that those big boulder-type challenges that appear insurmountable are usually not meant to be scaled alone. In fact, our role, as individuals, many times isn’t about taking care of the big stuff. Instead, our job is more about chipping away or filling in the cracks. Similar to caulking.

And as each of us chips and/or caulks, the bigness dissipates. We see progress. A new day dawns.
