Most of us have had the (mis)fortune of a broken heart. No one is immune to it. The few that have yet to experience it, stand a very good chance of having to slog through it at some time in their life. And because of the carnage, it can create, usually, no one wishes it on another. And, yet, being part of the human race all but guarantees you will experience it.
So, here’s something to keep in mind: A broken heart is a healing heart. At the time of the ‘break’, healing starts almost immediately whether we ‘feel’ it or not. A broken heart is also an open heart. At this point, imagine an illustration of a heart with a zigzag split in the middle of it. Thus, the heart is more open.

With an open and healing heart, something glorious can open. It is a springboard for personal growth. An opportunity to lean on friends. A time to give a bit back to our community. A chance to share our experience. An occasion to take the focus off of us. The possibilities are boundless if we allow this healing yet open heart to be fully exposed and shared with others.
