Imperfections

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold. It is the artist embracing the cracks, the flaws, the imperfections, in order to create an even more spectacular piece. Instead of trying to repair the piece back to its original state, the ‘scars’ become part of the new design and add value to it.

Sometimes it takes the tough times for us to remember just how full of potential we truly are. And to remember that our imperfections should be celebrated. For they are part of what makes us uniquely us. Besides, attempting to lead a life of perfection is not only a bit unrealistic, but, quite frankly, exhausting.

So, get your imperfection groove on. Throw a bit of ‘gold’ into the mix, and create something more resilient, more unique, more beautiful, more valuable. The world needs more you, exactly as you are, in all your glorious imperfection. So, go ahead, show those golden cracks.
