Yup. I admit it. I’m a Marie Kondo fan. For those living in a Netflix-free world, Marie Kondo created the KonMari method of tidying up. It goes something like this. Physically touch/hold an item you own, while posing the question to yourself, “Does this item bring me joy?” If it does, keep it. If it doesn’t (now here’s the fun part), acknowledge the use you’ve gotten from the item and then send it packing. So beautiful in its simplicity. And it adds a bit of gratitude into the mix, as well.
When I think of the KonMari method, I have to wonder how we can use a similar technique to ‘spring clean’ some of our most cherished habits. Think: Drinking coffee before speaking to anyone when you wake up. Or setting three alarms to make sure you are not late. Or tacos on Taco Tuesday.

Now, it’s your turn to think. Think about habits that you currently have. And then ask yourself, “Is this still serving me AND bringing me joy?” Because even a ‘good’ habit may be worth breaking if it is no longer helping you during this particular phase in your life or the journey you are currently on.
