Lenses

There are so many ways we choose to see ourselves on any given day. One day it could be through the lens of self-compassion. Another day, it might be through the lens of victimhood. And yet another, may just be via the lens of endless possibilities. And let’s not forget, we can actually turn into quick-change artists, and switch the lenses so rapidly, we see ourselves in multiple different ways on any single day.

Take a little personal inventory, right now, and ask yourself which glasses you have been putting on over the past week. Did you make lemonade out of lemons or were you just thrilled to have all the lemons in front of you. Did you stop yourself from trying something or did you stand bold and say, ‘What the heck. Let’s give it a go!’

The thing is, no matter which lens you wear, there is a very good chance that others are using their personal lenses when they are looking at you. And guess what? The lenses they choose to view you through, probably see some pretty darn great things. Let’s go so far as to say, that a vast majority of the time, they are seeing the true you – the beautiful individual that is you.

So on those days your lenses are telling a story that is not so accurate, consider cleaning those glasses, and see yourself as those who love you most see you.
