Moving

When we think about moving, many of us lean into the idea of physical movement. Makes sense. But what about the moves we make in our head, during our internal dialogue. Or the moves we make when speaking with another.
It is so easy for us to get caught up in our own stuff, our own experiences, our own assumptions, and our own beliefs that we move too fast. We don’t allow ourselves enough time to settle in and process a new idea, a new interpretation, a new understanding, or a new awareness.
With this ‘need for speed,’ we run the risk of missing out on inspiration and our personal brilliance. Potential solutions to untenable situations risk going unnoticed. Initiatives to redesign from good to better are possibly never realized. Simply put, missed opportunities abound.

So next time you find yourself in motion, give yourself time to respect what may be on the horizon and consider taking the time to soak in the possibilities. You are still making progress, but, in this instance, you are moving without moving.
