Pain and Suffering
Oh yay! Fun topic – said no one. But before everyone shuts down and/or decides to pass on this post, consider this. Every living creature, including humans, experiences pain throughout their lives. It is not a once-and-done kind of thing. If we are breathing, we eventually feel the prickly touch of pain.
Whether it is physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, many of us sprint from it as if we are catching the last train running that day. And that makes sense. But keep in mind, most don’t escape the discomfort. Instead, they wrap themselves up all in it, and it then turns to suffering.
So, here’s your challenge: Next time you are experiencing some form of pain, consider reframing it. Find a way to switch it to a more advantageous thought. For example, “Dang! That hurt like heck! If I had continued on, I might have really done some damage to my ankle.”

Not easy, and it does take practice, but if it is what you desire, you’ll make it happen. Remember. Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
