Radically Alike

It doesn’t matter the age: Be it a Gen Z, Millennial, or someone ‘chronologically superior’ – many of us pride ourselves on those things that make us unique. And, we should! We are our own inimitable thumbprint on the world. But here’s something I’ve been paying attention to this past week. In our race to be radically exceptional, that desire to be ‘one of a kind’ seems to be a shared theme with many people. How weird that our attempts to be distinctive makes us just like everyone else. Just look at:
- Fashion: Retailers can’t keep in stock the latest handbag worn by Meghan Markle (Duchess of Sussex)
- Nutrition: Go ahead, count up how many diets you bought in to only to realize moderation is the key, and then there is
- Religion (at last check there were over 200 major Protestant denominations in the United States – 200!)
The list goes on, but you get my drift.
So how about we all dig a little deeper and truly figure out ways to go against the norm and be phenomenally distinguished. Here are a few starters, in case you’re a bit stuck:
- Be kind to everyone. No exceptions.
- Love your perfect imperfections.
- Believe in your dreams.
- Listen more. Talk less.

Just imagine the possibilities.
