Sabotage

When many hear the word sabotage, they think of spy movies or cleaning the toilet with your sister’s toothbrush or posting that picture of Scott that you swore would never be seen by another soul.
But hold on to your hats: The person doing most of the sabotaging is the person who is being sabotaged. Meaning: You sabotaging you. We usually don’t even realize it because it is so sly, so sneaky. Here are a few examples:
· Comfort zone – We play small
· Distraction – Focusing on everything other than you and/or the activity
· Shifts – Placing the responsibility of our actions in the hands of others. Who can blame us?
· Negativity – Sounds something like, “I can’t, I’m not or I won’t.”
· Procrastination – It will get done after….
· Perfectionism – I’m not doing it unless I do it well.

These are all little snippets of self-sabotage. But they don’t have to be forever habits. You can always decide to reflect and answer the question of how you might be sabotaging your full, glorious potential. But beware, you may find yourself exceeding your own expectations and soaring instead of sitting.
