Self-Care Myth

Okay, there may be a bit of pushback on this one, but let it just be stated that self-care is sometimes choosing the ‘unhealthy’ option. Whaaaaaat?!?!?
Yup-yup. You don’t need to buy in to the myth that it must fall under the category of healthy. What it does mean is that it falls under the category of commitment – commitment to your well-being, whatever that is for you right now, today.
-It could mean that the 1200 calorie minimum for the day is not enough and your body is asking for more.
-Maybe you forego the “Home Edit” (courtesy of Netflix) and decide to sit in your space as is, content with your space the way it is now – disheveled and all.
- Or how about, hitting the ‘snooze’ for the third time because Dang – you’re just tired.
-Ooooh, and what if you say ‘no’ to a night on the town with friends because you have an early meeting the following day.
The commitment to self-care is recognizing exactly where you are right now and honoring who you are right now.
This particular kind of self-care would have you simply appreciate the beautiful being you are, today. From there, you decide what self-care can look like at another time. Myth busting….
