Stagnant Water

“I feel stuck.” We’ve heard it from others or spoken these words, ourselves. That ‘stuckedness’ is neither new nor unusual. And maybe being stuck is just what is needed for the short-term.
But here’s the rub. If we sit there for too long, we move from feeling stuck to being complacent. Literally, no movement in any direction. And from this vantage, life can begin to seem futile, because we are feeling ineffective. But don’t despair, because in that sea of complacency, there are still signals from all-around telling us it is time to move.

For even in stagnant water, there are occasional small ripples. These ripples are our prompts. We just need to pay attention.
