“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” Extremely wise words from Mr. Arthur Ashe, the American tennis legend. Let’s break it down a bit vis-à-vis the Suzanne Schilling interpretation.
Start Where You Are: There are times when starting where we are feels as though we are already behind the eight ball. And it makes sense given how some seem to have ‘luck’ on their side. But where we are is where we are. And it is our personalized springboard for taking the first steps toward wherever we want to be. The Point - Just start.
Use What You Have: We each have our own unique gifts and abilities. It’s the tools that we have in our tool box that are made specific for us. Take a good inventory of what you have. You may just be surprised at what comes up. The Point: Use your tools.
Do What You Can: Sometimes it feels as though the only way to get where we want to go is by taking giant leaps and bounds. But, consider the small successes you can experience by just micro-stepping into it. They may be just what is needed to keep you motivated and moving forward. The Point: Eat the elephant one teaspoon at a time.

Thanks Mr. Ashe.
