Don’t run away. This is not a flashback to your high school science class. But thermodynamics can be a part of our self-care conversation. So, a quick definition: The Law of Thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created, nor can it be destroyed. It can only change forms.
So how do we draw the line between these two different concepts ? Here’s how. This Law is a reminder that we are human. We are not robots. We, as humans, have limited resources. There is not this bottomless well of energy we can draw from. Because remember, the Law states energy can not be created. And, although it can not be destroyed, as noted earlier, our tank can get really, really low.

And this is where self-care comes into play. Through self-care we change our energy to a form that benefits us. So, there you go, self-care and thermodynamics can be used in the same sentence! And today’ science class can now be dismissed.
