Trust Your Pants

When was the last time you went on an adventure that truly required you to trust? I mean really trust. A few weeks ago, I went caving, also known as spelunking. It was a 3 1/2 hour muddy escapade in a constant 58 degrees Fahrenheit. Side note: You know you are having fun when 3.5 hours feels like 30 minutes.

Anyway, with headlamps and gloves, we walked into amazing darkness that must be experienced (so I won’t go on and on). But in order to truly enjoy this journey, you not only have to trust your guides, but you must also trust yourself enough to know that you will be able to handle whatever must be handled during your exploration.

This includes sliding down muddy, sometimes steep, inclines. And, here is where your pants have a part to play. The material of your slacks will slow you down enough to make the ‘slip-sliding away’ quite manageable. Let’s hear it for jeans!

So what areas in your life might require a bit more trust – in yourself, others, the universe, or even your pants?
