There’s an old joke about folks on a riverbank, witnessing the incredible miracle of Jesus Christ walking on water. The crowd was mesmerized, terrified, over-whelmed by what their eyes were seeing. Walking to the other side, Jesus hears the question, “How is he doing this?” Jesus turns around, smiles and replies, “I just know where the stones are.”
The task of walking on water is not one many of us will face, but what happens when you are experiencing something painful, uncomfortable or distressing? Does the challenge bring out the absolute best in you or does it swallow you up and drown you?
In the midst of challenges exist numerous creative opportunities to move out of our comfort zones, go beyond our automatic responses, and break through any walls that hold us back from attaining what we wish on the other side of a given experience.
One consideration to go further than we think possible is to step on top of the stones that created the situation instead of turning them into our stumbling blocks. Some stones simply require sturdy shoes. Others require significant hiking gear. While a few beckon our bare feet.

How ready are you to walk on the water of possibility in your life?
