Wishing and Hoping and Dreaming

“When You Wish Upon a Star” is a dreamy hope that lacks the punch to actually move in the direction of that big dream. It is a passing longing that is more of a momentary desire, requiring little, to nothing, from you.

Sharing that you wish for something to take place definitely puts us in a place of safety. But being tethered to a wish can keep you stuck – rarely pushing your limits or exploring beyond your safe borders. And this is when you may begin to question whether safe is the best bet for you, at this particular time in your life.

I will, on the other hand, carries a solid sense of determination. It is a phrase that contains an inherent drive, a motivator. And sometimes it is what develops from the original wish.

A wish is merely a suggestion. “Will,” on the other hand, expresses the desire to complete or fulfill a thought. So, for the next week, when it feels appropriate, consider switching out I wish for I will. With this modification, you are saying out loud your intention. Because remember: Words have power.
