Wonderful

The best version of you – what exactly does that mean? A good place to start might be asking the question, “Whose best version?” Is it your family’s version, culture’s version, your workplace’s, whose version? Depending on your point of reference, you may be getting a ‘false positive’ to that question.

It’s important to remember that if you define your ‘best you’ based on productivity, status, wealth, or any other external measurement, it could send you awry. You could find yourself in a situation where the only time you see yourself as ‘best’ is when you are successful, powerful, wealthy or have reached a certain status. And these have nothing to do with your best version of you, it simply amplifies how culture often mis-shapes how we define ‘best.’

So, challenge this definition of being ‘best.’ Shake it up a bit, and instead ask yourself, “Are you being the most

wonderful version of yourself?’ Changes the meaning of the question completely….as it should.
